Game Of The Week

 

One of the problems with publishing chess games is that I can’t publish someone’s win without publishing someone else’s loss. So, in an effort to keep those folks who may have had a loss published happy, I am announcing my policy of equal time:


Anyone who submits a game and has had a loss published by me in the past will be moved to the top of the list.


Of course, there is not much of a waiting list at this point, but at least, you will move ahead of my games. Anyway, I have already had someone take advantage of this generous policy. Robert Kohler was not too happy about the quick loss he suffered to Brian Wall. And I made it even worse by sending it out to the entire world! So he sent me a game which better reflects his chess ability:

This Week In Chess

On 5/4, the CSCC had 26 members join in the evening’s festivities. As usual, a handful of members played in the USCF-rated match play (G90). This time it was Alex Arustamyan defeating Richard Cordovano, Andy Chow toppling Dan Southard, and Allan Ufer beating Jeff Gilchrist. Most of the members played in the speed tournament (G5). Brian Wall went unbeaten to finish in 1st. Here are the final results:

Dallas High School Championship

Andrew Smith won 14th place in the Dallas High School Championship. The other high school tournament chess contenders included 343 players with a number of experts and masters. Andrew M. Smith is the current scholastic and adult Wyoming champion.
