Game Of The Week


This week's game comes from the Denny's Quick event (G/24;d/5, 4SS) this past Friday.  It is similar to the IHOP Quick Earle Wikle runs except with less Country music.  I was late but managed to climb up to board one by the final round where I faced an old nemesis, DuWayne Langseth.

Game Of The Week


This week's game comes from my list of upsets.  I have 57 games where I won when I was within 25 rating points of my opponent or below.  Since the game is a statistical coin toss when you are within 25 points, it doesn't matter whether you have the higher rating or lower rating.  You are equal in the eyes of the statistician.

This week's game come from the Colorado Springs Chess Club's March Swiss 90 event.  This tournament is a month-long, Swiss event with one round per week.  The time control is G90+30, which means that each player gets 90 minutes on his clock to play all his moves.  The +30 is an increment time control which adds thirty s...

Game Of The Week

 

This week's game comes from Earle Wikle's IHOP Quick event.  He runs the event on the 1st and 3rd Friday nights.  It has four rounds that last about an hour each (G24d5).  The games are the longest you can play without effecting your standard USCF rating.  So, it is considered quick chess.
